Overview

The castle tour gives a historical overview of the Buda Castle district, which is a UNESCO World heritage site. We will have a nice walk among nice baroque style buildings through the small cobblestone streets. You will hear how the castle was built and designed and historical stories about the medieval Buda and the Jewish community of the 14th century. I will show one of oldest historical café, here you will be my guest for a nice cake. Optional: we can visit the museums, the Matthias Church inside and we can also use the Funicular Railway "Sikló" to go up to the Buda Castle Hill.

What To Expect

Buda Castle

You will hear interesting stories and history of Buda Castle Area. I will show you the main sights in Buda Palace (Hungarian National Gallery, Historical Museum, nice statues, Lion garden, Széchenyi Library). I will talk about the former Jewish Quarter, the mikveh which is the oldest in Budapest. We discover the Sándor Palace, Dísz Square and Tóth Árpád Promenade together. I will tell you all information about these sights.
